Served as Director for Global Environmental Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and

attended various international environmental conferences on Climate Change, Bio-diversity, Desertification,

Bio-safety Protocol, Basel Convention including the Rio Earth Summit in 1992.

Served at Korean Missions to the OECD in Paris from 1993 to 96

and worked for Korea's negotiation to join the OECD and attended environmental meetings of the OECD.

Served at the Permanent Mission of Korea to the United Nations, New York from 1996 to 1999 and

participated in the works of the UN in the field of Sustainable Development and Environment.

Served as Rapporteur of the Second Committee of the UN General Assembly in 1998.

Coordinator for technology transfer of the first COP of Climate Change Convention and

Deputy Director-General for Environment 1999-2001 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Korea

Member of GEF(Global Environmental Facilities) council from January 1999 to June 2000.

Chairman of the ITTC (International Tropical Timber Organization Council) for the year 2000.

Lead author for IPCC Special Report on Technology Transfer, 1998-99.

Friend of Chair, Climate Change SBSTA on Technology Transfer, 2000

Served as Minister at the Korean Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia Until April 2003.

Served as Director-General for International Economic Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

and Trade, Seoul, Korea from May 2003 until July 2004.
