Profile

Mr. Jean D’Aragon has been working for more than 20 years on sustainable development issues in project and programme development, implementation, management, coordination and monitoring and evaluation in post-disaster/conflict, developing, and transitional settings covering a wide range of geographical contexts, including regions of Canada, Europe, Latin America and Caribbean, Africa, Asia and Oceania.

Mr. D’Aragon has extensive academic and practical experience in planning and implementing safe, adequate affordable housing and neighbourhood building and upgrading projects that minimize adverse environmental impacts, reduce the vulnerability and enhance the resilience of the urban poor of developing countries. His work is oriented towards the integration of pro-poor, gender-sensitive, livelihood and food security, risk and vulnerability reduction strategies into the urban housing and planning policies, codes, regulations, plans and programmes at the regional, national, subnational levels.
