Greetings

Jeon, Seong-tae
Members of the Environmental Cyber Network of World Local Governments and experts from home and abroad!
I would like to welcome you all to the 2017 ENCYNET.
I am Jeon Seong-tae, vice governor for Administrative Affairs of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Republic of Korea.
The treasure island of Jeju, recognized by UNESCO, has been setting important milestones along the way for conserving the global environment.
Jeju has also emphasized the role local governments can play in contributing to environmental conservation by presenting effective methods to manage multiple internationally-protected areas.
The future vision for Jeju is cleanliness and co-existence. Jeju envisions a world environmental hub in Northeast Asia where the nature and people can live together, and culture makes people happy and improves the quality of life for citizens.
I hope today’s ENCYNET will be a great opportunity for member countries as well as Jeju to set clear visions and have those visions come true.

Thank you.

Jeon, Seong-tae
