A talk with Inger Anderson, IUCN Director General (at Hawaii Convention Center on Sept. 1)
-Jeju and IUCN agreed on the need for the participation of international organizations in establishing the Evaluation and Certification System for World Environment Hubs.
-Jeju and IUCN also recognized the shared need for a variety of programs and a systematic education for environmental conservation and peace at the global level, and agreed on the necessity for the opening of the Education and Training Center for the Management of Internationally Protected Areas.
-Jeju and IUCN have worked together for the Evaluation and Certification System for World Environment Hubs via the Working Group and the Steering Committee with the goal of completing the system by early next year
