□ Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is recruiting participating stores for the 2026 Tumbler Use Discount Store Support Program to reduce disposable cup use and spread a culture of using tumblers.

○ This year’s project budget has doubled from KRW 100 million to KRW 200 million. As a national-budget project aligned with the government’s plastic reduction policy, Jeju plans to significantly expand the number of supported stores in the province.

□ The program targets beverage-selling stores in Jeju and supports part of the discount amount applied when customers use tumblers. It is designed so that stores can increase sales through price reductions while consumers receive benefits for using tumblers.

○ The support amount is up to KRW 500 per use for individual stores and franchisees, and up to KRW 300 per use for directly operated franchise stores. Support is provided within the actual discount amount.

□ Stores wishing to participate can apply through the dedicated website by attaching documents such as a business registration certificate, a copy of the business account bankbook, and a pledge form. After the store applies a discount to customers using tumblers, it submits monthly proof of discounted tumbler sales. After verification, the support payment is deposited into the business owner’s account the following month.

□ Director General Lim Hong-cheol said, “The Tumbler Use Discount Store Support Program is a plastic reduction policy in which stores and consumers participate together. We will build Jeju’s own disposable cup reduction model by linking this program with various policies, including the disposable cup deposit system and expansion of tumbler washer installations.”
