Guilin is a prefecture-level city in the northeast of the Guangxi Region of China. Located in 109°36’E—111°29’E and 24°15’N—26°23’N
Guilin has a humid subtropical climate with short, mild winters, and long, hot, humid summers.
Winter begins dry but becomes progressively wetter and cloudier.
Spring is generally overcast and often rainy, while summer continues to be rainy though is the sunniest time of year.
The annual average temperature mean is 19°C,the annual rainfall is just above 1,900 mm. There are 1,550 hours of bright sunshine annually and the annual frost free period is about 300 days.
Guilin administers 12 county-level divisions and five districts.
It has a total area of 27,800 square kilometres,and urban area of 565 square kilometres.
Guilin has long been renowned for its scenery of karst topography and is one of China's most popular tourist destinations. It is a typical karst landform.The limestone,which is seen everywhere in the city and goes through millions of years' weathering and erosion, presents a unique landscape,which features a thousand peaks,a river-sourrouding city,strange caves and beautiful stones. Guilin is also a famous culture ancient city with two thousand years of history. It has a rich cultural background, Such as Lingqu canal (Qin Dynasty) is one of three Chinese ancient famous water conservancy engineerings. Jingjiang Princes City, which is the most extensive and well preserved ones in China. Gongcheng Confucian Temple, one of the four greatest in China; Quanzhou Xiangshan Temple, and more than 2000 stone sculpture along hills of which two of the most famous are Guihai Steles Forest and Xishan Cliffside Carvings.

Guilin Liangjiang International Airport occupies an area of 4.06 square kilometers with a building respectively concreted area of 0.17 million and 0.65 million square meters. Flight area is classified 4D and the length of runway is 2,800 meter. The annual designed capacity is 42,000 flights and 10 million passengers. At present it has 44 domestic routes and is serviced by 21 airlines. 29 domestic cities and Hong Kong, Macao as well as Fukuoka in Japan, Cheju and Seoul in Korea and Bangkok can be serviced. http://www.airport-gl.com.cn/
